Casas Novas is ready to host a top-level CSI 3* full of excitement and spectacle
The Porsche Grand Prix on Saturday will award, in addition to the usual prize money, a coveted Porsche Macan to the winner
The list of participants for the CSI 3*, which will be held from July 16 to 20 at the Casas Novas Equestrian Centre (A Coruña), alongside the European Show Jumping Championship, confirms that this edition will undoubtedly be one of the most competitive and spectacular on both the national and international equestrian calendar.
This CSI 3* will feature a total of five classes, distributing €168,085 in prize money, plus an extra incentive: the coveted Porsche Macan that will be awarded to the winner of Saturday’s Grand Prix, the highlight of the weekend.
In total, 40 riders and 67 horses will star in three intense days of competition from Friday to Sunday, offering the Casas Novas audience world-class show jumping every day. Top names such as Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann — the rider who has spent the longest time at the top of the FEI ranking — along with established stars like Britain’s Ben Maher, Germany’s Richard Vogel and Christian Kukuk, the Netherlands’ Maikel van der Vleuten, Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs and Steve Guerdat, and Ireland’s Daniel Coyle and Darragh Kenny, guarantee a world-class sporting spectacle.
Spain, meanwhile, will be strongly represented by its top two riders in the national ranking: Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, who is enjoying an excellent 2025 season with numerous appearances and podium finishes on the international circuit, and Mariano Martínez Bastida. They will be joined by other prominent names such as Manuel Fernández Saro, Julio Arias, and other notable Spanish rider-and-horse pairs.
Local fans will also have plenty to cheer for thanks to Galician riders Jesús Baamonde, Diego Ramos Maneiro, and Javier González Fraga, regulars at Casas Novas who will be giving their all to make the grandstands roar.
Competition schedule: excitement from the very first jump
The CSI 3* classes will range from heights of 1.35 m to 1.55 m, following this programme:
• Friday: kicks off at 09:30 a.m. with the Veolia Trophy (1.35 m), followed by the Grupo Eulen Trophy at 11:30 a.m. (1.45 m).
• Saturday: the most intense day, with the Movistar Trophy (1.45 m) at 1:30 p.m., and the main event, the much-anticipated Porsche Grand Prix, at 4:00 p.m., featuring jumps up to 1.55 m. This year, the big news is the prize: a Porsche Macan, symbolising the blend of precision and elegance in equestrian sport and the prestige of the brand.
In addition, the Caser Trophy will recognise the best Spanish rider in this flagship class, where the high international standard will make reaching the podium a true challenge.
• Sunday: the final day will put the finishing touch on the weekend with the Prosegur Trophy, starting at 11:30 a.m. (1.45 m), closing out an unforgettable weekend of top-level sport and excitement.
